If you want to venture into the world of SEO you will need to learn how to specifically write for promotion rather than utilizing your general writing skills as they each have a very different approach. You may be wondering what is so different about the writing style used by SEO services? As you read on, you will discover that the differences are quite substantial.
What exactly makes SEO article writing different?
Keywords are at the heart of every SEO article. Without them, it will never be classified as SEO writing. When you are writing for SEO purposes, you need to keep in mind that you are writing in order for your content to attract people to a specific web site. This is the reason why keywords are important because these are what the Google spiders look for when measuring the links that are related to you.
Using keywords is not as easy as you think. The hardest part for anyone with SEO training is adding the keywords appropriately so that your text still appears sensible. Some keywords are extremely crucial but the way they are phrased sometimes ruins the flow and idea of an article. A good way to approach the task is to first write a sensible article before looking for spots to add the keywords to. At this stage, you may still need to adjust some of your sentences to accommodate keywords but you will spend much less time on keyword insertion than if you wrote articles at the onset with your keywords already in mind. You are less likely to get stuck for long periods of time over article writing if you use this two step strategy.
An SEO article consists of about 300 to 500 words. Any article that is shorter than 300 words will not have enough meat for it to gain substantial readership. On the other hand, if you go longer than 500 words, you will bore your reader and they will drop out of your article before they even get to resource box.
In general, there are a couple of points that every web article writer should keep in mind.
1. Have a specific theme and let the words flow in that direction. Otherwise, you will only bring confusion to the reader’s mind instead of clarity on your topic.
2. The first few sections of your article should effectively hook the attention of readers. This will increase the chances of them sticking out until they finish reading the rest of the piece. Your last few sentences should then move readers to take action.
3. Grammar and technical structure should not be compromised in favor of SEO strategy implementation. Once you do sacrifice the quality of your content, you will end up sabotaging your reputation as an expert in your field.
4. Take the time to proofread your articles to make sure that everything is in order. Never trust in your expertise because even the best experts can make mistakes.
Generating articles for an SEO campaign is not too difficult. Once you learn the basic concept of how to optimize for the internet, you can’t slip.
